Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are my first steps if I decide I want to contract a program for myself or a loved one?

Any or all of the following would be excellent steps in helping you or a loved one make a determination about which program offered at Turning Point Learning Center is right for you.

  • Research the Davis Programs offered at Turning Point Learning Center.

  • Acquire the book, The Gift of Dyslexia, by Ronald D. Davis.

  • Request a free phone consultation and informational packet, including a brochure of the program.

  • Take a free online dyslexia screening assessment.

  • Schedule an Assessment to determine if a Davis Program is a match for you or a loved one.

2. What can I expect to happen during the Assessment appointment?

  • The Assessment appointment duration is typically 1 - 2 hours.  The facilitator will need to meet with the client and parent/guardian, separately to determine needs, goals, and compatibility to a potential Davis program.

  • Written evaluation provided post-assessment.

3. Can you give a formal diagnosis of dyslexia?

  • No, our standards of practice do not allow us to give a formal diagnosis of dyslexia.   We can assess for traits and characteristics that would make someone a good candidate for the Davis Program.

4. Can adults achieve help from the Davis Program?

  • Yes!  The Davis Program can be facilitated to anyone ages 8 and up.  At Turning Point Learning Center, adults are welcome too!  Adults bring with them a high degree of motivation, which makes adult programs extremely rewarding for the facilitator and the adult client.
